When you work your notice there are likely to be many factors which impact on the experience you have remaining in your job role. Your identity may be shifting, your day to day relationships alter, your routines and rhythms might shift, and you’re counting down to a change whilst finishing what you are working on and possibly handing over to someone else.
You might be leaving a role following handing in your notice, moving internally to a new team, being served notice through redundancy, preparing to retire. Your long term Fractional Leadership role or contract may be ending or coming to a close, or you might be leaving for other reasons. You might be finishing in your role and taking an extended break, for example going on maternity leave, taking sabbatical leave or having a career break.

After 19 years working in HR teams within recruitment roles and as an HR People Partner, I’ve seen many 100s of people leave companies. I decided to create a unique coaching offering to support ambitious individuals during important transitions in their work-life.
Uprooting is a warm coaching space where you have space to think, create plans to support you day to day, your mindset, your personal development and your wellness, so you are ready and resourced to start your next job role or life chapter.
How does Uprooting work?
I specialise in working with ambitious heart-led individuals who are working a long notice period typically ranging from 2 to 3 months, however will also work with you if you have a longer notice or expected end date in your job role.
You may be working in a corporate role, part of a small business, work as a Fractional Leader, or are a long term consultant or freelancer with your contract coming to an end. Uprooting supports all work chapters and work endings.
I work with ambitious individuals who have a known end date or are preparing to finish a role with an approximate end date in mind.
Uprooting supports you as you work your long notice period, and supports you if you are preparing for retirement, a career break, internal job moves and being served notice due to redundancy. Uprooting is also suitable for individuals taking extended leave from their role due to work sabbaticals and maternity leave. Uprooting isn’t a course, it’s coaching to support your mindset and wellness during a long transition experience.
Change and endings can effect each of us differently. Working with a coach during this time can provide a confidential thinking space, which might be just what you need.

Working together you’ll have the space to think and to talk freely about what’s going on right now and what’s next. You’ll have space to ideate, to create plans and intentions, to explore, to work out how you want to feel, what you want to do, and how you want to make the most of the remaining time in your role.
It’s about feeling supported during a notice period in relation your mindset and wellness, gaining clarity, developing yourself, and being resourced and ready for the next job role or next chapter.

Experiencing two redundancies with long notice periods, taking a year off my role for maternity leave, combined with my 19 year HR and recruitment career brings a wealth of lived experience to Uprooting.

I’m Lucy and I’m passionate about creating a bespoke coaching space to support your mindset and wellness whilst you work a long notice period.
I’m a multi-certified coach and have 19 years of experience in HR roles. I’ve personally experienced two redundancies with long notice periods and have experienced what it’s like to take extended leave for a sabbatical and a maternity leave.
In my HR career I’ve experienced many 100s of people leave their job roles, from the perspective of being the internal recruiter welcoming a new employees, and as a People Partner seeing employees leave companies I’ve worked in. At moments in my career I’ve been privileged and trusted to support people during their notice period too.
Leaving a job role under any circumstance comes with it’s ups and downs and sometimes you can’t find the support you most want whilst working your notice. Working with me as your coach can help you make the most of this transitional period of time, supporting you with your mindset, wellness, and personal development ahead of starting a new job role.

Welcome to Uprooting call
We’ll come together on a call by connecting on a 20 to 30 minute welcome video call to briefly get together to introduce ourselves properly and start work out what your focus will be over the time we are together.
Pre-coaching session preparation
Ahead of our first coaching session together you’ll receive reflective prompts to help me get to know you, understand where you are, and help you see where you are too. My clients always say how powerful these questions are when we meet. Questions which were challenging to respond to, took thought and made them stop and think. For me they showcase what it can be like to coach with me.
Coaching
Coaching together is the heart of Uprooting. Creating a space for you to be you, which is free of the workplace agenda and is focused on you and your notice.
We’ll coach together for 4 x 75 minute sessions, meeting every three weeks to a month. The agenda is open for you to explore ways to support your mindset and wellness, creating a more empowered and positive experience as you leave the role ready to start your next role or life chapter.
Clients use coaching sessions to:
Reflect on how they want to feel, what they want to use the time for and create an empowered plan to support their mindset, wellness and personal development aspirations during their notice period.
Explore what they are experiencing with motivations, self-doubt, overworking, relationships at work, legacy, experiencing endings and change, and creating solutions which feel personally aligned.
Creating thinking space to explore aspirations for the next job role or life chapter.
If you are have a longer notice period, have a longer lead time such as retirement, maternity, redundancy or a career change, or just want additional sessions you are welcome to add in additional coaching sessions as needed at a £170 per session.
Reflective Workbook
As part of your time in Uprooting I will share with you a reflective workbook, which provides nature-inspired approaches to support reflection.
A coach in your pocket - Weekly Voxer voice messaging or email support
The ups and downs of leaving a role can feel challenging. You’ll have access to me once a week during your 2 to 3 month notice period. You can use it if you want to check in, share something you are noticing or seek a warm pep talk between sessions. You can voice message or text using Voxer, or email.

Your investment includes coaching for 4 x 75 minute coaching sessions, reflective workbook and weekly Voxer or email check ins.
A two instalment payment plan is available.
Included within your investment is a 2% donation which will be made to the following charities - Thrive and Smart Works.
