April Simple Pleasures

Each month I love to look back and think about the simple pleasures which have felt joyful, the moments I want to remember and the connections I’ve made with the season. When we seek out and notice the simple pleasures in our lives we can cultivate a sense of appreciation for the moments and experiences in our everyday. Over time we start to notice even more and feel gratitude for the smallest of moments shaping our days. Each year the experience of the season can shift, we notice different things, our months feel different, capturing the memories of the season is a rhythm I love to build into each month.

The simple things, the glimmers, and the gentle moments of connection to nature can help us to elevate the everyday and increase the feeling of joy in our life.

April had been filled with two weeks of school easter holidays, warm sunny weather and plants bursting into leaf and growing. It’s been a month where I’ve been sinking into the springtime joys and making the most of the time we’ve had with family. Here are my thoughts on the simple pleasures which have cultivated joy in my life for the month of April.

April Simple Pleasures

Woodland floors filled with bluebells and wild garlic

Purple cascades of wisteria flowers over doorways

Ice cold drinks with sprigs of mint

Quality time with family during holidays

The joy of easter egg hunts

Blue skies and sunshine

Transplanting seedlings into bigger pots

What simple pleasures have you noticed during the month of April? Take a few moments during the month to make notes of what feels good, what feels joyful and the moments you want to remember.
