June Simple Pleasures

Cultivating a more intentional life can start by noticing the small simple pleasures and simple moments of our everyday lives. The simple things, the gentle moments of our day connecting to our senses, and the glimmers can blend together and help create a sense of joy unique to our own lives. One persons simple pleasure may be different to next person, the different phases of our lives, our passions and interests and the environment we live in all play a role. Intentionally noticing, getting curious about simple pleasures stay with us, and what bring us most joy can help us create reminders to do more of what tops us up and helps us feel good.

Each month I love to think about how I’ve spent my time. I look back at the photos I’ve taken, the experiences I’ve had and my day to day rhythms and routine. The simple pleasures I tend to note down are the small moments I want to remember and how I’ve connected with the shifting season in my life. Every year the experience of the month and the season can change, we notice different things, our time is occupied with different things and we might seek out or do things a little differently. Capturing the memories of the season is a rhythm I love to build into each month and this is why I create my monthly simple pleasures.

June has been a month where I’ve sunk into the summer season, I’ve spent time noticing a little more than normal and making shifts to my daily rhythm. The simple pleasures bringing small moments of joy into my life this June have been topping me up and helping me appreciate this season filled with light, sun, growth and warmth.

June Simple Pleasures

Sunny evenings watering plants

Dappled shade under trees

An early morning breeze

The smell of fresh basil

Wildflowers bobbing in the wind

Strawberry and rhubarb crumble

Iced coffee made at home
